Why We Apply a 10% Late Fee
At Just Simple Hosting, we aim to keep our billing process transparent, fair, and predictable for all customers.
The 10% late fee applied to overdue invoices is designed to help cover the additional operational and administrative costs incurred when payments are not received on time.
Our Billing & Reminder Process
Before the Due Date
- 14 Days Before Due Date: First unpaid invoice generated.
- 7 Days Before Due Date: Second payment reminder sent.
- Due Date: Automatic payment attempt is made.
After the Due Date
- 2 Days Overdue: Overdue reminder sent.
- 3 Days Overdue: 10% late fee applied.
- 7 Days Overdue: Service suspended.
- 14 Days Overdue: Service terminated.
Why We Charge a Late Fee
The late fee is not intended as a penalty, but rather to offset the real costs associated with managing overdue accounts.
These costs include:
- Ongoing hosting and infrastructure costs while services remain active and unpaid.
- Administrative time spent sending reminders and managing overdue accounts.
- Payment processing and failed transaction handling.
- Support team time spent contacting customers regarding outstanding balances.
- Additional accounting and account management overhead.
Even when an invoice becomes overdue, the services provided including hosting resources, server space, licensing, and support availability continue to generate costs for our business.
Why Timely Payments Matter
Prompt payment helps us:
- Maintain reliable hosting and service infrastructure.
- Continue delivering uninterrupted support and service quality.
- Keep pricing fair and sustainable for all customers.
- Reduce unnecessary administrative overhead.
We provide multiple reminders before and after the due date to help customers avoid late fees and service interruptions wherever possible.
Avoiding Late Fees
To avoid additional charges or service disruption, we recommend:
- Ensuring your payment method is up to date.
- Monitoring invoice due dates carefully.
- Contacting us before the due date if you anticipate any payment issues.
If you believe a late fee has been applied in error, please contact our billing team and we will be happy to review the account.
